ParticipantSHALOM SAINTS!
AN APOSTLE IS A MAN WHO IS PART OF THE FIVEFOLD MINISTRY AS WE SEE FROM EPHESIANS 4:11. HE IS A MAN THAT IS SENT FROM GOD TO SET THINGS IN ORDER. LET’S LOOK AT AN APOSTLE PAUL HE WAS GOING FROM CHURCH TO CHURCH SETTING THINGS IN ORDER LIKE WHAT HE DID AT THE CHURCH AT CORINTHIANS TELLING THEM HOW VOCAL SPIRITUAL GIFTS SHOULD OPERATE AND THAT WOMEN SHOULD NOT PREACH ETC. HE MOVED FROM CHURCH TO CHURCH GALATIANS, EPHESIANS AND EVEN TO THE CHURCHES THAT WERE IN ASIA(PAUL’S MISSIONARY JOURNEYS)
LETS COME TO OUR DAY. OUR PROPHET BRO BRANHAM VISITED THE WORLD SEVEN TIMES. WE CONSIDER THOSE JOURNEYS AS MISSIONARY JOURNEYS LIKE THAT OF AN APOSTLE PAUL. HE WAS SETTING THINGS IN ORDER FOR ALL THE MESSAGE CHURCHES AROUND THE GLOBE AS WE ALL KNOW THAT MESSAGE CHURCHES ABIDE BY THE CHURCH ORDER DOCTRINE SET BY ELIJAH OF OUR DAY.
REF:
SCRIPTURES
EPHESIANS 4:11
1TIMOTHY 2:9
1 CORINTHIANS 14QUOTATIONS
And then we find out the apostle is a special man. He’s a—he’s a setterin-order. He’s a man that’s sent from God to set the things in order. (WARNING THEN JUDGMENT title JEFF.IN V-8 N-3 63-0724)A word “apostle” means “one that’s sent.” I’ve often wondered why the missionary ever wanted to be called a missionary. A missionary is an apostle. The word “missionary” means “one sent.” “Apostle” means “one sent.” A missionary is an apostle. (POSITION IN CHRIST.title CHICAGO.IL 55-0116A)

ParticipantShalom , God bless you all
An Apostle today, a modern apostle is nothing in the world but a missionary. Now if you’ll tell me what the word missionary means, then tell me what apostle means. Apostle means “one sent”, and a missionary means “one sent” It’s the same thing. 57_0226, p22.Furthermore in 58_0209,p71,bro branham says : The Bible said first Apostles. Is that right?…he is referring to Ephesians 4
His role, Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will …of God, to the saints…now remember they are scattered all over the world…he ain’t talking to a local church , he is directing this to the sainted ones…and to the faithful in Christ Jesus… This quote is from the spoken word The baptism of the Holy Spirit ,p159_
I shall conclude by emphasizing that an Apostle is a man that is sent of God to the saints of God to set the churches in order.
Thank you

ParticipantShalom again, just to follow up on that
I believe that bro Branham played a role of an Apostle as was mentioned above…
I have a question though from an article I read from the internet, maybe we’ll create a discussion out of it as to who qualifies to be an Apostle…I’m sorry for deviating…
Bible Question:
What is the role of an apostle today? Are they missionaries? Some churches have apostles. Is this scriptural?Bible Answer:
In order to answer your questions, we need to answer another question first, “What are the Biblical qualifications of an apostle? The answer to this question is found in a discussion among the apostles which occurs in the book of Acts. And at this time Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty persons was there together), and said, Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. For he was counted among us, and received his portion in this ministry . . . It is therefore necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us– beginning with the baptism of John, until the day that He was taken up from us–one of these should become a witness with us of His resurrection. Acts 1:15-17, 21-22 (NASB)
The Apostles
Qualifications of an Apostle
The Apostle Peter is speaking. Judas is dead, and so there are now only eleven apostles, not the original number of twelve. Peter is telling those who are present how to select a new apostle to replace Judas. Peter says , “It is therefore necessary . . . ” and then gives the qualifications that such a man must satisfy in order to be an apostle. Peter said that only men who had been with Jesus from His baptism until He returned to heaven could be a candidate for an apostle.Paul, The Apostle
The first time that Saul or Paul appears in the New Testament is in Acts 7:58.When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. Acts 7:58 (NASB)
Acts 7:59-8:3; 26:9-11 and Galatians 1:13-17 helps us understand that Paul had been actively persecuting Christians for some time. In 1 Corinthians 9:1 Paul tells us that he had seen Jesus.
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? 1 Corinthians 9:1 (NASB)
But when did Paul see Jesus? Did he see Jesus on the Damascus road (Acts 9:1-8) or during Jesus’ ministry? Since Paul was one of the Pharisees (Acts 26:4-5), it is highly likely that he had seen and heard Jesus during His earthly ministry before he saw Christ on the Damascus road.
His Damascus Road experience was the moment in time when Paul became a Christian and an apostle. Paul was appointed an apostle by our Lord (Romans 11:13;1 Corinthians 15:9; 1 Timothy 2:7; 2 Timothy 1:11; Gal 1:13-17).
. . . for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher. 2 Timothy 1:11 (NASB)
Later in 2 Peter 3:15-16, we find that the other apostles agreed that Paul was an apostle as they accepted his writings as authoritative.
Conclusion:
What is the conclusion? Apostles were men who saw Jesus while He was here on this earth. Therefore, it is not possible for a man to be an apostle today. Jesus’ earthly ministry stopped 2,000 years ago. This means that no one living today could have seen Jesus during His earthly ministry. Peter (Acts 1:22-26) and Paul also tell us that a person was selected by God to be an apostle.WHAT IS OUR TAKE ON THAT?

ParticipantShalom saints ,i would like to participate on the above matter , I think each and everyone of us if we are to be asked to interpret the scriptures we would always have different versions ,depending on how we see or read it hence we have lot of churches today claiming to serve one God ,but having different doctrines, while we are supposed to have one doctrine which is the true “Word of God” without addition or subtraction ,brother branham preached that “God is his own interpreter” , and we all know that through out generations the “Word” would always come to the messenger of the age, and only him has the right and authority to interpret scriptures because he is the one God reveals his word to, just so his people may walk under his leadership according to his will with no confusion, as such i would like to reconsider what did brother branham said of who and what the “apostle” is in our day, this issue I feel like is no different from the question that was asked some couple of days ago as to whether we still have minor prophets or not in this day and age, and “I” personally responded negatively according to how i understood it,but we then found out what brother branham said the minor prophet is in our day and he said that’s the “preacher behind the pulpit” and that automatically returns the positive answer to say “we do have minor prophets in our day”,so on the above response from some of the brothers and sisters distinguishing the definition of an “apostle” .
they pulled out quotes of who qualifies to be an apostle in our day,and brother branham said “missionaries are apostles” ,and we do have missionaries today alternatively meaning we do have apostles! In conclusion I believe God sent us Elijah to combat confusion as he is not the author of confusion ,we take what the prophet said and leave alone what the rest of the world think it is!
I do not mean to dispute the above article though, they might be right i am just saying from the concept of the “message of the hour” and what God is teaching us as we grow in this Message.

I would like to believe that we are all well by the grace of God, I do appreciate your respond over the matter I posted above,
My take on the matter is that I do not agree with the claim that an Apostle is one that has seen the lord Jesus Christ on his earthly ministry over 2000 years ago. We are in the Holy Ghost dispensation. The Holy Ghost is the lord. The word of God is the God(John1:1-) and God is the lord Jesus,as long as those are in operation we should have witnesses and these are the Apostles or what we call missionaries today.
I’ll give my personal input but solidly based on what the scriptures and the prophet has taught. We see that an Apostle, or Apostles were men that were witnesses of the lord Jesus’ ministry, Some saw him and followed Him John 1:37 , others He actually hand picked one by one from their own businesses , told them to follow him John 1:43 and sent them out , in Matthew 10: 2 they are mentioned by names…
Paul met with Him as a pillar of fire on his way to Damascus, now to connect that with the view braught forth by the article I copied and pasted, *sorry for plagiarizing, I left out the references I’m not very patient with technology I shall do better next time by God’s grace…My take personally was that YES an Apostle must be an eye witness of the Lord Jesus’ ministry yet that shouldn’t disqualify those who saw Him in other forms, like the Apostle PAUL saw Him as a pillar of fire or those who experience the new birth in other ages post His earthly ministry in human form.
Brother branham says that there are still Apostles today , 55-0116, p17… Most of us have THE TABLE APP, let’s read the quote please…I’m a bit slow in typing…
He had his own encounters, he also witnessed or saw the lord Jesus as the man who was standing in the air that was in 1933 after his early conversion. we get that from the Supernaturals( chapter 12 from the audio)…
met with the angel of f the lord in 1946 who gave him the commission, now saints I was actually trying to drive a point home, that bro Branham is also an Apostle even with the view presented by that article…he moved with the pillar of fire…he heard a voice from a whirlwind…there are countless encounters that definitely qualify him as an Apostle still…even as was mentioned above how he travelled around the world 7 times and the doctrine of the lord Jesus Christ he brought forth since he based it on “Thus saith the scriptures ” he often said what Paul preaches, he preaches also. In the spoken word “A believer’s position in Christ” bro branham admits that he was sceptical about the baptism of the Holy Ghost move until he experienced it himself perhaps as Paul was on his way to arrest Christians, 55-0116,p19References
