FROM THE BEGINNING.”

SERMON NOTES
Mathew 19:3&4 – They asked for separation, but He gave them a teaching
of union (oneness). What I like about this is that He did not refer them to
anything supernatural but to the Word, He said, “Have you not read?”
You must look at the word “suffered” as God’s permissive will, and the word
“commanded” as His perfect will.
When He speaks about the beginning, He is taking them to the Word.
John 1:1 says that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God.
I want you to see the Word fornication and adultery. These words are
spoken here by God Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ in whom was the
fullness of the Godhead bodily. That is why He was not saying, “Thus sayeth
the Lord…” like the Old Testament prophets, but He would say, “Verily,
verily, I say unto you…” because He was the fullness of all the prophets, He
was God.
Christ was saying the only grounds for a man to divorce his wife is on the
grounds of fornication, not adultery or anything. Every woman is supposed
to be married a virgin.
A woman is supposed to be touched only by her husband, the man that
removes the veil from her head when they wed. When she commits
fornication she has a responsibility to confess that to her husband. If she
conceals that, and the man finds out later on, he has a right to divorce her
and marry again, but whoever will marry her that has been so divorced
commits adultery.
If a woman commits adultery, the husband can divorce her but he cannot
marry again. If he decides to marry again, he must go back to that same
woman.
Mathew 19:11 – It is not a problem if the churches and people do not
accept this teaching, but there are young men and young women, married
men and women who are prepared to receive this teaching and live by it.
Our children are not being taught these things and 90% leave high school
already infected with HIV and Aids. If the parents were doing their job and
being responsible enough, the children would be protected.
If the children are taught these things, they will grow in discipline and the
family will be united, but it starts with the parents. The father must open
the Bible and teach his family and when he goes to work, the mother must
remain emphasizing what the father would have taught. That is the order of
the home.
The Lord Jesus was showing them that Moses commanded them not, but
suffered them. God can permit you to do certain things and bless you yet
being in His permissive will like when Israel cried to the prophet Samuel
that give them a king.
The Lord showed them that there will be consequences for that as it was
His permissive will, not His perfect will. He even told them that such a king
would abuse their children. Balaam is another example, God suffered him
to go and curse the children of Israel. God gave him to follow his own evil
desire.
God suffered them and not commanded them to divorce their wives. He
suffered them because they were pushing too much. You must be sure that
what you are doing is the will of God. Even with your parents, you must be
able to understand what their perfect will is.
You must understand what the will of God is before putting effort on
anything. At the same time, you cannot have faith without knowing God’s
will by hearing the Word of God.
God’s first thought is the final thought. His first way is the right way
because He does not change.
Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6 – God does not change, if He was a
changing God, what would happen to us if He would say there is no more
heaven, where would we go?
Marry and Joseph went for three days without Jesus. Many people, many
churches today claim to be with Jesus but they are not with Him. He is not
in a church, but in His Word, the Bible.
They, Marry and Joseph, found Him where they had left Him, in Jerusalem
and everyone, every church will find Him where they would have left Him,
by going back to the beginning.
When the season comes, God will give you what you want, drivers’ licences
and things obtained through bribery are not from God. Stay in the Word,
stay with the Message and God will bless you.
Some people worship their bosses at work and compromise. You must
stand your ground and show that you know your God, your boss ensures
you get a pay check month end but he must know you have a God that is
above all.
1 Timothy 2:12-15 – Even before we read the Bible, nature itself teaches
that a woman must not preach and the Bible gives the reason as follows:
“13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not
deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the
transgression.”
Malachi 3:16 – God hates divorce and if you are a Christian, you cannot do
what God hates.
Genesis 1:26-27, was the creation of man, the spiritual being, in the
image of God who is Spirit (John 4:24). Genesis 2:7 – was the formation
of man from the dust of the earth and God then breathed Genesis 1:26 into
Genesis 2:7.
Genesis 3:4 – In other words the serpent was saying to Eve, though you
will die, you will still build houses, buy cars, and do other carnal things
because what would die is that which people cannot see, the spirit.
You can still marry and do everything else yet dead. People are afraid of
going into the ground. They do not know what death is. When you are out
of the presence of God, you are dead.
The Lord Jesus said let the dead marry the dead (Mathew 8:22) and Paul
said to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).
The part that matters to God is not this flesh but the inner man, the soul.
Eve was not attracted to the shoulders and muscles of Adam but his
character. Adam was not attracted to the hips and carnal beauty of Eve but
the character of Eve, the character of the soul. If your love is connected to
the soul, you cannot divorce.
When you marry a woman because of beauty, you will divorce her when she
gets old and the beauty fades away. Those who marry dust, Genesis 2:7,
are the ones that end up divorcing. However, when you marry her because
of character, it gets better with age and you will love her more as she grows
old.
I am trying to show you what love is, what marriage is, I am talking about a
marriage that cannot be broken, I am talking about a marriage that is
founded upon the truth, I am talking about a marriage that is connected to
character, I am talking about a union that is inseparable. It is not
something that God permits.
Many people are suffered, they are not commanded, it was not so from the
beginning. Go back to the beginning like Joseph and Marry, and all will be
well with you.
God promised to give you your needs and not your wants. You can lose ten
million rands and God will not feel anything because it does not have
anything to do with your eternal inheritance.
Wants are things that you can do without which the flesh demands. Needs
are the demands of Genesis 1:26, like prayer, which you cannot do without.
When your religion does not lead you into the presence of God it is not of
God. True religion pulls brethren together in fellowship.
These two that are engaging, are not being united to be divided. Marriage
has three stages: courtship, engagement, and then the wedding. Like the
new birth which comprises of justification, sanctification, and the baptism
of the Holy Ghost, marriage also goes in threes.
Engagement brings two into a status of husband and wife, it is NOT
reversible. The two cannot only live together as husband and wife until the
day of their wedding.
Marry and Joseph, according to God, were already husband and wife when
they engaged or betrothed – Mathew 1:18-20.
