JEROBOAM THE EPHRATHITE, THE SON OF NEBAT AND ZERUAH:
THE GOLDEN CALF SCHEME.

SERMON NOTES
I have been thinking about the curiosity which few people have. Many people fear
death but for the believer who has met with Malachi 4, there is curiosity, a desire to
know what is beyond the curtain of time. Hence, death cannot scare them. The
enemy cannot have a hold on such a believer.
Last week’s sermon, SUFFERED AND NOT COMMANDED: IT WAS NOT SO FROM
THE BEGINNING, was a thought that was in line with the occasion of the day, but it
also carried sentiments of the subject of our current series YE WORSHIP YE KNOW
NOT WHAT: JEROBOAM THE SON OF NEBAT AND ZERUAH, which was a thought
flowing from the series THE CANONICITY OF THE SILENT CENTURIES.
It is important to study how God is moving amongst you and how these sermons are
blending. It is my desire that as we are moving forward we be able to make a local
application of these teachings and walk in the order and purpose that God
predestined from before the foundation of the world.
We will continue to seek inspiration from the story of Jeroboam and bring it down to
our present tense, into the New Testament. I am sure by now we are now able to
understand what a Samaritan is. I am talking about the spirit of Jeroboam and its
operation.
Jeroboam was a founder of an apostate state. 1 Kings 12:4 – We must not serve God
based upon our comfort and these people are typical of believers that do not want
to be led of God but want to lead Him; they use God and are not used by Him.
These people were pleased when Rehoboam answered them harshly because it
gave them the occasion to fulfil their lustful desires. They requested him to do
something they knew he was not going to grant because they did not want to be
led by him. This is the very same thing their fathers did in 1 Samuel 8.
1 Kings 12:21 – Here king Rehoboam was trying to bring the fallen Israelites back to
the faith but God stopped him from doing so in verse 22. God suffered them to go
the wrong way.
It is not everything that is permitted of God which is a sign that He is with you. You
cannot base your decisions upon one Scripture. You must be able to see God leading
you in His continuity from Genesis to Revelation then you can have faith. The devil
fights using the Scriptures.
People do not read the Bible and when they do, they do not pray about what they
read. Subtilty means understanding the principles of life.
The devil is subtle. It was the Word that was inside of Joshua and Zerubbabel that
discerned the Samaritans who came offering to help in the rebuilding of the temple
were not worthy of acceptation, they were uncanonical.
God told Brother Branham to tell us that our thoughts speak louder in heaven than
our words. That is why we must never neglect our thought lives. The devil was
judged by his thoughts (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:15). God takes your words as
serious as He takes His own Word and that is why the Bible shows us that we must
not be quick to make our vows unto the Lord (Numbers 30:2). You can be judged
and go to hell by your thoughts.
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Hypocrisy is when you do not
have alignment between your thoughts and your words.
The judgment of a hypocrite is more than that of an honest man because a hypocrite
is difficult to help because they conceal their wrong and incapacity.
I would rather live with an honest person than a hypocrite who hides iniquity in their
heart. Such a person is dangerous. If you are a person that blames others, watch
your thought life.
1 Kings 12:28 – Jeroboam discouraged people from going to worship at Jerusalem
as satan will discourage you from praying and fasting, worshiping God in the soul.
He then made substitute gods which are the calves of vanity.
Many people today are falling victim to men that use the golden calf scheme and
cause people to worship false gods instead of the one and true living God.
Anything that seems to be an easier way to obtain the blessing of God must be
questioned.
God watches your character before he gives you a certain gift or blessing. He cannot
give you something that will destroy you.
If a gift comes through God’s provided way, whereby you work for it and pray for it,
it will draw you closer to God.
I am not going to lighten the order that The Father has given in His Word and
through His prophet messenger, we would rather make it harder.
Rehoboam refused to lighten the burden but made it even heavier causing
Jeroboam to find occasion to go and lighten the burden and offer to the people an
easy alternative.
The golden calf scheme produced two vines. God allowed that false vine to grow.
Jeroboam, whose name means the one whose people are countless, took many
Israelites who believed him. He then made priests of men that were not even
qualified to be priests and established false worship.
09 – THE LAODICEAN CHURCH AGE
Oh elect of God, beware. Study closely. Be careful. Work out your salvation with fear
and trembling. Rely upon God and be strong in His might. Your adversary, the devil,
is even now going about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Watch
unto prayer and be steadfast. This is the end time. Both the true and false vine are
coming into maturity, but before the wheat matures, those ripened tares must be
bound for the burning. See, they are all joining the World Council Of Churches. That
is the binding. Soon the garnering of the wheat will come. But right now the two
spirits are at work in two vines. Come out from among the tares. Start to overcome
that you may be considered praiseworthy for your Lord, and fit to reign and rule
with Him.
The two vines are growing together. These things are not far-fetched but are right in
our midst.
When we say we are not a denomination, we are saying we are not in a programme
of making Christians but we are grooming people who are already Christians.
When we preach and teach the Word, we are grooming the life that is inside of you.
This Word will make you reveal your true characteristics and you will grow in the life
of the seed that is inside of you.
You must understand that this Message goes beyond religion. There are things that
we preach that you are going to see with your eyes.
When we preach about the Seals, the Trumpets, and the Vials, these are realities, it is
an order, it is a path to follow, it is a way of life.
This Message is more than a religion, when we preach It, It is an expression of reality,
It is the Bible fulfilling. Many people think that the Word is just talk, but It is the Bible
fulfilling and what you do when It is preached is also the Bible fulfilling.
05- THE PERGAMEAN CHURCH AGE
Now let us take a Scriptural warning here. Was it not in the days of Moses whom
God had vindicated that Korah rose up and withstood that mighty prophet? He
disputed with Moses and claimed that he had as much from God to lead the people
and that others shared in the Divine revelation as well as did Moses. He denied the
authority of Moses. Now the people back there, after they had heard the true Word
and were well acquainted with the fact that a true prophet was vindicated of God, I
say those people fell for Korah and his gainsayings. Korah was not a Scriptural
prophet but the people in great numbers with their leaders went for him. How like
the evangelists today with their golden calf schemes like Korah’s. They look good to
the people as Korah looked good then. They have blood on their foreheads, oil on
their hands and balls of fire on the platform. They allow women preachers, let
women cut their hair, wear slacks and shorts, and by-pass the Word of God for their
own creeds and dogmas. That shows what kind of seed is in them. But not all the
people turned on Moses and left the Word of God. No. The elect stayed with him.
The same is happening again today. Many are leaving the Word but some are
staying with it. But remember the parable of the wheat and tares. The tares have to
be bundled for burning. These apostate churches are getting bound closer and
closer together, ready for the fires of God’s judgment. But the wheat is going to be
gathered to the Master. Now I want you to be very careful here and see this. God
has promised that at the end time Malachi 4 is going to be fulfilled. It has to be for it
is the Spirit-quickened Word of God spoken by the prophet Malachi. Jesus referred to
it. It is just before Christ comes the second time. By the time Jesus comes all Scripture
must be fulfilled. The Gentile dispensation will be in its last church age when that
messenger of Malachi comes. He will be right with the Word. He will take the whole
Bible from Genesis to Revelation. He will start at the serpent’s seed and carry on to
the messenger in the latter rain. But he will be rejected by the denominations.
Everyone can speak with God, that is true, but if your speaking with God competes
with that of Malachi 4, you are inspired by the devil.
Korah was presenting an easy thing to the people. You must question all easy things.

78 It was Satan’s ambition to be worshipped like God. He took two-thirds, two-thirds
of the stars of Heaven. Ascended hisself above those stars, and preached to them,
and deceived two-thirds of them. You see it? All right. Notice, that’s his ambition. And
now he is ready, with his careful selected, educated bride by his own knowledge,
see, all painted up in his deceit, of big buildings and big denominations, and paints
of knowledge and theology, and smart and intellectual, and educated, to deceive the
whole world, and become a “god.” That’s what he’s done. All heading up into the
person of the antichrist, which is already crowned “the vicar of God,” by his worldlyloving, scientific bride, all dressed up in pomp of intellectual, religious education. She
is made religious like him, and by his own interpretation of the Word of God as he
did Eve, and as his son Cain did. Now you said, “Satan’s son?”
79 Show me one place in the Bible that Cain was ever called Adam’s son. The Bible
said he was “the son of that evil one,” serpent’s seed. No, the cover has been took off
now, brother. The pyramid has been opened, as the revelation showed.
80 Notice what he will do, his thoughts. He thought God dwelled in worldly beauty.
He did that in Heaven. Sin never begin in the garden of Eden; it begin in Heaven,
when Lucifer, the son of the morning, exalted himself in beauty, and wanted a more
beautiful kingdom than that of Michael. And he thought that God dwelt in beauty.
81 And notice Cain. He didn’t want no blood sacrifice. He come down and offered
the fruit, or—or the fields of beauty upon his altar. Very religious, done everything,
that, just exactly like Abel done; offered a sacrifice, fell down before God in worship,
obedient in every way, but without the revelation of the Word. And the Word was,
from the beginning, God’s plan. But God revealed, by revelation, the very thing that
He vindicated and punctuated that that was right. Not religion, not an altar, not
belonging to church, not making a sacrifice, not being sincere; but by the revelation
of the Word of God. God revealing to him what that it… His mother did not take a
apple that a snake give her, but she had a sexual affair with the person of Satan, in
the form of the beast; not a reptile, but the most smartest, subtlest of all the field, the
image of man, the only thing that the seed would mix in. Now science is trying to
find him. And they never will find him, because every bone in his body is changed.
But the Bible declares it to be so.
The golden calf scheme is an extension of satan’s rebellion which he started in
heaven. Dathan and Korah, and Jeroboam were carrying the ambition of Lucifer.
Revelation 17:7 – The same devil who was in the likes of Korah and Jeroboam
deceiving many into false worship is deceiving many today.
64-0401 THE IDENTIFIED CHRIST OF ALL AGES
And God knows just exactly where you belong, and what age you belong in. And,
therefore, if you got Eternal Life; the word Eternal is “something never did begin, or
never can end.” So, whoever you were, see, you were, you always were. You were
God’s attribute being—being displayed, a—a Word.
65-1204 THE RAPTURE
85 Now, so were you in, if you’ve got Eternal Life, you were a…in God before there
ever was a world. You are a part, a son of God, an attribute of God. He knowed the
very age you were coming. He predestinated you to that age, to take that place, and
no one else can take it; care how many impersonations and things. You’ve got to be
there, because He knew you would be there. Now you are made manifest. Now you
can fellowship with Him, and that’s what He wants. He’s longing for fellowship, to be
worshipped. But if your life did not…always was as an attribute in God, you’re just a
mimic of Christianity. See? There’ll be millions and billions of them, they’ll just be
mimics of Christianity.
An original product markets itself but a fake product requires a great deal of
advertising. A real believer is not a mimic of Christianity.

189 Don’t take some new thing. They’re flying everywhere, and there’ll be more
than that come. But don’t take these new things. The Lord your God has declared to
you what is Truth. The Lord your God has vindicated what is Truth, by His Word and
by His Spirit. “Not by power, not by might, but by My Spirit.” And, the Spirit, “God
seeks those who worship Him in the Spirit and Truth.” “Thy Word is Truth.” And He
has thoroughly vindicated that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
He has showed the evening Seeds to you. He has revealed It to you, in the Word. He
has proven It to you, by His Spirit.
190 Don’t never start or try an organization. Don’t try to build upon anything else.
But stay humble before the Lord your God, for it looks like the gates may open into
the promised Land soon. Then let us go in with the true singing and rejoicing, when
the Bride and Groom takes its place at the Throne.
191 Live humble. Live loving. Love one another. Don’t never get nothing among
you. If you see something coming up in your heart against somebody, get it out of
there right then. Don’t let… And Satan will do his best to get among you. See? Don’t
you let that happen. Some slicked-tongue fellow might come along and try to take
you away from It. You think they could talk Moses out of the Presence of God, where
he had stood there and seen It? No, sir. No. We don’t take from It or add to It. Just
keep It the way the Lord said. We don’t want no denomination. We don’t want no
organizations. We don’t want no malice. We don’t want no strife. We want God, and
He is the Word.
If you stay in the path that God has ordained for you, then you will be able to come
where He wants you to be. If you do not stay the course, you will miss out and lose.
God sent Malachi 4 with the whole Word because it will take the whole Word for us
to go back into fellowship with God.
63-1103 GO, WAKE JESUS.
147 God, in the beginning, was just God. He wasn’t even God; God is “an object of
worship.” He was the great power, God. Then He created Angels, and Angels
worshipped Him, so He was God. Then He created man.
148 Now, He’s a Saviour. So, there’s nothing lost; something had to be lost, so He
could display His attribute as a Saviour. You believe that? [Congregation says,
“Amen.”—Ed.]
149 He was a Healer. So, there’s nothing sick; so there had to be something sick, to
display His attribute, to show that He was.
150 He was Father, see, and something had to be. He had to have a Son, to make
Him Father. See?
151 And all these things displaying His attributes, there’s nothing out of line. See?
There’s…God is making every wheel click just exactly right. Everything is all right. The
Creator, hallelujah, the Creator is in the boat that we’re sailing in.
Your worship is what qualifies God to be your God. The calves of Jeroboam, became
the people’s God.
People bring idolatry into the Message and there is a penalty for doing that.
The golden calf scheme falls upon ministers, parents, and children to stand between
them and God’s plan and purpose for their lives.
You do not look for God in such schemes even if you are in tribulation, stay with the
Word, endure and pray for God to give you strength.
1 Kings 13:1-2 – Josiah means the gift of God, he was to come and deal with the
false worship Jeroboam established in Israel.
We are not coincidences, we must resist satan and bring deliverance to those in
captivity. We must tell satan and his demons not to feel pity for us. We must see the
Kingdom of God established in our lives.
Do not tolerate the thoughts from the pits of hell speaking negative about you and
your loved ones. Judge such thoughts by God’s Word and speak the Word until your
thoughts are pure.
